Supported by 10 years of professional excellence in his field, Dr. Cho serves as a member of the Electrode/Contact Technology Team for LG Display Co., where he specializes in process improvement. In the context of his work, he has developed the process and equipment for manufacturing of the inkjet and imprint technology. Additionally, he developed the etch process using NF3 gas and ICP mode equipment, and improved film adhesion between metal electrodes and the passivation layer.
Prior to entering the field, Dr. Cho earned a Master of Metallurgical Engineering from Inha University, and a PhD in electronic engineering rom Tohoku University. A member of the Korean Vacuum Society, he has conducted extensive research over the years in direct printing technology, dry etch technology for TFT substrate of display panels, and defect engineering for display panels.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cho has obtained nearly 50 patents and has 17 still outstanding for a variety of crystal display devices, organic light-emitting diode devices, and flat panel display devices. For his amazing work, he has been recognized on a number of occasions, earning the Outstanding Poster Paper Award from the 20th International Display Workshops. In the coming years, Dr. Cho intends to further expand upon his research and experience continued growth in his career.
