During this time, he also served as a cooperative researcher for the Research Institute for Human and Nature from 2002 to 2009. Prior to these appointments, Mr. Fujihira held the position of public planner and construction supervisor for Tama City Hall in Tokyo, Japan, from 1978 to 1997.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Fujihira pursued an education at Waseda University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 1978. Following this accomplishment, he worked with his local government to research environmental problems in Japan for nearly 20 years.
Beyond his efforts within the field, Mr. Fujihira has participated in numerous endeavors in his professional circles. He has found much success with his written works, having authored, "Sustainable Home Design by Applying Control Science" in 2017, "Short Introduction to Environmentology" in 2001, and "An Introduction to Environmentology" in 1999. He co-authored "Complex Systems, Sustainability and Innovation" in 2016, "Sustainable Development - Policy and Urban Development - Tourism, Life Science, Management and Environment" in 2012, and "The Limits of Earth" in 1999.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Fujihira has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. He was presented with the President Award from the Japan Wooden Houses & Industry Association in the Sixth Sustainable Housing Awards in 2015.
