With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Rev. Saurer-Smith has served as a co-founder, teacher, minister, spiritual counselor and writer with the Society of Christian Mystics and Metaphysicians since 1990. In 2009, she became the co-founder of the Keys to Enlightenment Program with her husband, Tony Smith. In these roles, she leads the company in providing clients teaching materials, books and a variety of self-help workshops for clients on their spiritual journeys. The workshops include but are not limited to the subject of grief recovery, dealing with change, self-actualization, finding purpose, active listening, compassionate caring, dynamics of prayer, and meditation techniques. Rev. Saurer-Smith is also a Licensed Unity Teacher. She was employed by Unity School of Christianity as day-supervisor and trainer in the Silent Unity Prayer Ministry and later as supervisor of the "Special Letter Department" from 1982 to 1987. She served as a Licensed Unity Teacher in support of numerous Unity Centers over a period of twenty-three years before releasing that role to devote herself fully to the Keys to Enlightenment Program.
Rev. Saurer-Smith began her career as assistant to a Unity minister in her home town in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1980. Later, she became a student at the Unity School of Religious Studies, where she studied metaphysics, spiritual counseling and mysticism to become licensed as a unity teacher. In addition, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in interior design with La Salle University, and studied adult education, management and psychology courses at Kansas State University.
A respected voice in the field, Rev. Saurer-Smith has written extensively in her areas of expertise. Her books include her autobiography "Windows of Life and Death," "A Comparison of World Religions," "Reincarnations of Marisa," "The Master Teacher Within," "Dynamics of Prayer," "REALITY, A Journey Through Time" and "What Jesus Taught." In 1988 she was employed as an activities director for South Park Care Center of Kansas City, MO. Relocating to Tulsa, OK in 1990, she became Director of volunteer services, bereavement services, and chaplain services for Hospice of Green County until 2001. She is currently active in her community as a spiritual counselor and a co-presenter of various workshops with her husband, Rev. Tony Smith, co-founder of Keys to Enlightenment Program. Together they use topics from her books and other writings to provide weekly lessons online to hundreds of members worldwide.
In recognition of her exceptional achievements, Rev. Saurer-Smith has been included in the 25th through 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women. In her free time, Rev. Saurer-Smith enjoys writing, practicing yoga, dancing, reading, gardening, aromatherapy and long philosophical discussions with her husband.
