Prior to this appointment, she was the director of decorative affairs for Sands Point Museum from 1989 to 1991, the director of decorative affairs for the Harbor Acres Association from 1987 to 1989, an art department consultant for the Nassau County Museum of Art from 1984 to 1986, and a fashion artist consultant for the Simplicity Pattern Company from 1958 to 1962, having been the department head for the fashion art office from 1953 to 1958. Ms. Maglione began her career as a fashion artist with Butterick Patterns from 1952 to 1953, as well as a fashion artist consultant with Miss America, Inc., from 1953 to 1954.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Maglione pursued an education at the Traphagen School of Art & Design, earning an associate's degree in 1950. She continued her academic efforts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Art Students League of New York in 1952. Ms. Maglione concluded her studies upon completion of coursework at New York University.
Beyond her efforts within the field, Ms. Maglione has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. As an artist, her work has been featured in one-woman shows at the Palm Gallery, Live Art International, Gallery 84, the James Hunt Barker Gallery and Fairfield University. With art included in exhibits at the National Arts Club and in the International Catalogue of Contemporary Art, she has found success with her poetry as well, having contributed poems to the National Library of Poetry, Artists Magazine, American Artist Magazine and International Artist Magazine. Furthermore, Ms. Maglione has also been an honorary trustee of the Parents Television Council since 2000.
In addition to her primary trade, Ms. Maglione remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has maintained involvement with the National Society of Painters in Acrylic and Casein, the Portrait Society of America, Inc., the International Society of Poets, the National Association of Women Artists and the American Artists Professional League, Inc. Likewise, Ms. Maglione has been a member of the Salmagundi Art Club, the Allied Artists of America and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, where her work has been archived.
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Maglione has accrued several accolades and honors throughout her impressive career. Recognized among the 10 Women Of Distinction by Distinction Magazine in 2007, she was presented with the Memorial Award from the National Arts Club in 2005 and 2006, the Annual Award from Artists Magazine in 2005, the American Artists Professional League Award in 2004, the Memorial Award from Pen + Brush in 2003, and both the Memorial Award and the Salmagundi Award from the National Association of Women Artists in 2001. Honored among the Master Painters of the World in 2002, Ms. Maglione received the Award Of Excellence from Manhattan Arts International in 2000, the Certificate Of Merit from Art Calendar Magazine in 1999, the Award Of Merit from the Allied Artists of America in 1999, the Centerfold Award from Art Calendar Magazine in 1998, and the Award for Acrylic Painting from the National Arts Club in 1998.
A finalist in the Artists Magazine's Annual Competition in 2001, Ms. Maglione further garnered the Amsterdam Award of Excellence in 1998, the Liquetex Purchase Award in 1998, and the Critics Choice Award from Manhattan Arts International in 1998. Additionally, she obtained honors from the National Society of Painters in Acrylic and Casein, including a Memorial Award in 2001 and an award in 2004. Ms. Maglione has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America.
