With more than 15 years of research experience, Dr. Park is currently a professor with Kangwon National University, where he has worked since 2004.

With more than 15 years of research experience, Dr. Park is currently a professor with Kangwon National University, where he has worked since 2004, having previously served as an associate and assistant professor. He further contributed as the dean of the Division of Science Education in 2005 and 2017, and vice provost for the College of Education from 2010 to 2011. Likewise, Dr. Park was co-chair of the Amphibian Specialist Group from 2005 to 2014. Earlier in his career, he worked as a research associate with Michigan State University from 2001 to 2004 in the lab of Dr. Heather L. Eisthen.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Park pursued an education at Korea National University of Education, earning a Master of Education in biology education in 1996. He concluded his studies in 2001 at Northern Arizona University, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in biology, supervised by Dr. Catherine R. Propper. Additionally, Dr. Park completed service in the Reserve Officers Training Corps for the Republic of Korea in 1990s.
Dr. Park has found success with his written works as well, having contributing many articles to such esteemed journals as Zoological Science, Genes and Genomics, Asian Herpetological Research, the Journal of Comparative Physiology A, General and Comparative Endocrinology, Environmental Health and Perspectives, and PLOS One. Since 2012, he has been the associate editor for the Korean Journal of Environment and Ecology and an editorial board member for Asian Herpetological Research. The editor of the Korean Journal of Herpetology from 2012 to 2014, Dr. Park coauthored "Conservation Biology of Amphibians of Asia: Status of Conservation and Decline of Amphibians: Eastern Hemisphere" in 2014.
In addition to his primary trade, Dr. Park remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. Since 2015, he has maintained involvement with the National Park Committee of Korea and an Endangered Species Committee of Korea. Dr. Park has also been active as a member of the World Congress of Herpetology, the Korean Society of Ecology, and the Korean Society of Herpetologists.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Park has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. He was presented with an Award from the Ministry of Environment for the Republic of Korea. He also obtained an Award from Rotary International. Additionally, Dr. Park garnered an Award from the Korean Federation of Science & Technology Societies.
