Throughout the course of her career, she has received numerous poetry awards in recognition of her creative works. In addition, Ms. Goodman-Milone was selected for inclusion in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World.
Early in her career, Ms. Goodman-Milone attended George Washington University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1985. She went on to serve as a freelance writer in Philadelphia and New York City. While completing a Master of Social Work through Barry University in 1999, Ms. Goodman-Milone served as a social work intern with the Miami VA Healthcare System. She briefly worked as a case manager in skilled nursing before pursuing a career as a freelance writer in Miami. Most recently, Ms. Goodman-Milone served as the president of the South Florida Writers Association, and serves as an editor of the Author's Voice newsletter and community relations director of the South Florida Writers Association.
Outside of her career as a writer, Ms. Goodman-Milone remains dedicated to humanitarian pursuits. At the present moment, she is recognized as a field partner with Doctors Without Borders, hospice volunteer with VITAS Healthcare, past chair and director of the Creative Writing Committee with the Junior Orange Bowl, member of the Leaders Club with the National Wildlife Federation, wildlife guardian with the Defenders of Wildlife, member of the Wildlife Rescue Team with the World Wildlife Fund, champion of the American Red Cross and sponsoring member of the United Service Organizations. Ms. Goodman-Milone has maintained involvement with the Natural Resources Defense Council since 2008, the Nature Conservancy since 2006, Leadership Council of the Southern Poverty Law Center since 2002, Democratic National Committee since 1996, and Academy of American Poets since 1995.
In recognition of her commitment to humanitarian efforts, Ms. Goodman-Milone was named a Marquis Who's Who Humanitarian of the Year in 2017. She was previously selected to receive the Eleven Year Volunteer Award from VITAS Healthcare in 2011, Bill Katzker Member of the Year Award from the South Florida Writers Association in 2003 and Bereavement Volunteer of the Year Award from the VITAS Dade Program in 2001.
