Prior to this appointment, he was an administrator for the Alexandria Country Day School, Alexandria, Virginia from 1998 to 2002, the Evergreen School, Kensington, Maryland from 1995 to 1998, and Grace Episcopal Day School, Silver Spring, Maryland from 1993 to 1995. Previously, Mr. Dame was an international financial consultant in Washington, DC from 1991 to 1993, vice president of American Security Bank, Washington, DC from 1988 to 1991, chief financial officer for DITT, Inc., part of Electricite de France (EDF), from 1986 to 1988, vice president of Sovran Bank, Arlington, Virginia from 1985 to 1986, and senior vice president of Palmer National Bank of Washington, DC, from 1982 to 1984.
Previously, Mr. Dame served as vice president of J. Henry Schroder Bank and Trust Company, New York, from 1980 to 1982, Security Pacific National Bank, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sydney, Australia from 1976 to 1980, and Riggs National Bank, Washington, DC from 1974 to 1976. He was regional representative for Asia of Franklin National Bank, New York, resident in Singapore, from 1972 to 1974, assistant vice president of Franklin National Bank, New York, from 1971 to 1972, and assistant treasurer, Bankers Trust Company, New York from 1970 to 1971. From 1968-1970 he served as deputy representative for Japan and Korea of Bankers Trust, resident in Tokyo. Mr. Dame began his career as an official assistant and assistant treasurer of Bankers Trust Company from 1963 to 1968.
Beyond responsibilities within his field, Mr. Dame has participated in numerous endeavors outside of professional circles. Long active in the Episcopal Church, he was a member of St. Paul's Parish, Washington, DC, serving on the vestry from 1995-1998 and as senior warden in 1996-1997. From 2002-2017 he was active with the Diocese of Quebec, Anglican Church of Canada, through St. Barnabas Anglican Church, North Hatley, Quebec where he served as Treasurer, Endowment Trustee, Deputy Peoples Warden and Deputy Rector's Warden. He was also licensed by the Bishop of Quebec to act as a Deanery Lay Reader.
He was Treasurer and a Trustee of the Japan-America Society of Washington DC from 1974-1976. He acted as Treasurer and Trustee of Quebec Lodge Foundation from 2013-2017. He served as a corporator of Passumpsic Savings Bank, St. Johnsbury, Vermont from 2004 to 2013. While living overseas, he was active in the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, 1968-1970, serving as a committee chair. He was a founding member of the American Business Council of Singapore in 1973. While in Australia, responsibilities included serving as Managing Director, Security Pacific Australia Ltd., Sydney, from 1979 to 1981 and, concurrently, as a director of Marac Holdings Ltd., Auckland, New Zealand, Marac Australia Ltd, Sydney, and Tricontinental Corporation, Melbourne.
Other community activities for Mr. Dame include service as a director of the Woodley Ensemble, Washington, DC from 1997-2002, as Vice President of the Piggery Theater, North Hatley, Quebec from 2003 to 2005, and as a director of The North Hatley Club, 2003-2009. He has been active with the Old Asia Hands Society and the BT Alumni Association. He is a member of the Society of the Cincinnati, the Society of Colonial Wars, the University Club of Montreal, and the Singapore Cricket Club.
Mr. Dame is a graduate of Episcopal High School, Alexandria, Virginia, studied at the University of Florence, Florence, Italy in 1962 and received a B.A. degree from the University of Virginia in 1963. He is married to the former Beverly Ann Reece and they live in Sarasota, Florida.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Dame has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. In 2007, he was recognized as an honorary trustee of Saint Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Dame has been selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.
