Mr. Curtis is an executive partner with the retained executive search firm of Olmstead, Lynch & Curtis, LLC. Headquartered in Atlanta with offices in Chicago and South Florida, the firm was originally established in 1980. Joining the firm in 2010, they serve clientele of public and private companies across 32 states for executive searches that have included upper level roles, such as director and president. Beginning his career as an associate attorney with White & Case, LLP and Jones Day, he then spent 25 years in commercial real estate. Prior to joining Olmstead, Lynch & Curtis, LLC, Mr. Curtis was a partner with Matteson Partners, a boutique executive search firm, for eight years.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Curtis pursued an education at Dartmouth College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in honors history, magna cum laude, in 1967. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1971 from Harvard University. He concluded his studies at Harvard University in 1974, graduating with a Master of Business Administration. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Curtis was admitted to the New York and Georgia Bar Associations.
An adjunct professor at Georgia State University and honorary real estate board member at J. Mack Robinson College of Business in Georgia State University since 2008, Mr. Curtis is the author of "The Curtis Collection," an anthology of his poetry released in 2015. Involved with myriad organizations throughout his career, he maintained involvement with the Sons of the American Revolution as president of the Atlanta Chapter, the Royal Society of Saint George as president of the Georgia Branch, the Memorial Day Association of Georgia as President, the General Society of Colonial Wars as the deputy lieutenant governor of the Georgia Society since 2018. Formerly active with the Metropolitan Arts Foundation as a director, the Rotary Club of Buckhead as an officer and director, Mr. Curtis is a member of The Breakfast Club, Atlanta Forum and the McCullough Club and a director of the Sigma Chi Alumni Club of Atlanta. He is a past president of the Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta and Dartmouth Club of Georgia.
Mr. Curtis served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves, beginning in 1970 and concluding his service in 1978. He has been the recipient of several honors for his service, including a National Defense Medal and an Old Guard Hancock Medal. He has also received several other awards, including a Society of Colonial Wars Military Veteran's Medal, SAR Silver Citizenship Medal and an International Poetry Award. A longtime member of the Peachtree Presbyterian Church where he has been an elder since 1983, he has been married to his wife, Janet, since 1970, and is the proud father of one son. Notably, Mr. Curtis has been showcased in more than 30 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.
