Previously, he served Gruntal & Co., Inc. as managing director and head of real estate group from 1993 to 1998, Jones Lang LaSalle, IP, Inc. as director from 1989 to 1992, Eastdil Secured as an associate from 1984 to 1989, Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC as an associate of corporate finance from 1982 to 1984, and Wells Fargo as New York office manager from 1979 to 1980. Mr. Godwin began his career as a foreign exchange trader for Bank of America Corporation from 1976 to 1978.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Godwin pursued an education at the University of Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Science in commerce in 1976. He concluded his studies with a Master of Business Administration in 1982 at Dartmouth College.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Godwin has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He has contributed to the Board of Directors for the Baptist Health Hospital System and the Baptist Health Foundation. In addition to his primary trade, he remains affiliated with the North Carolina Society of New York, the New York Athletic Club, the University of Virginia Alumni Association, Dartmouth Alumni, and Omicron Delta Kappa. Furthermore, Mr. Godwin has maintained involvement with the Urban Land Institute, the National Multifamily Housing Council, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and the Real Estate Board of New York.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Godwin has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career.
