Previously, Mr. Arminas served as a contributing author to "The American Poetry Annual" for the Amherst Society in 1991, "Best New Poets" for the American Poetry Association from 1986 to 1987 and in 1989, "Publisher's Choice Selected Poems of the New Era" for the American Poetry Association, "Best Poets of the 1990s" for the National Library of Poetry, and "Our World's Gold and Silver Poems" for World of Poetry Press.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Arminas pursued an education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, completing coursework from 1978 to 1979. He continued his academic efforts with a transition program in 1997, and he concluded his studies later that same year, completing coursework with the school. Likewise, Mr. Arminas earned scuba certifications from Monmouth College, the YMCA of the USA, and CMAS in 1976.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Arminas has participated in numerous endeavors in his community. From 1987 to 2001, he contributed to the Revlon Research Center as a chemist, cosmetic colorist, and inventor. He was a volunteer firefighter for Middletown Township Fire Department from 1983 to 1986, and he was previously active as a choir soloist and tenor for Middletown Reformed Church from 1983 to 1986 and a Eucharistic Minister for Saint Veronica's Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Arminas performed with the New Jersey All Shore Jazz Ensemble in 1977, was a member of the Monmouth County Fire Academy in 1983, and has been a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists since 1997. Mr. Arminas was the captain of his Varsity Men's Gymnastics Team in 1977 and a third-degree charter member of the Knights of Columbus.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Arminas has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. As a chemist at the Revlon Research Center in 1996, he was the creator of the color formulation for the Revlon Nail Enamel "Vixen", which won him a nomination for Revlon's highest corporate award, "The Charlie Award", held in Alice Tully Hall Lincoln Center, NYC in 1996. That color is still a best-selling shade, as it has been for nearly two decades. In 1997 he was the chemist who created the color formulation and spearheaded the color development of Revlon's "Streetwear Nail Enamel Line", which won him three separate nominations for Revlon's highest corporate award, "The Charlie Award" again held at Alice Tully Hall Lincoln Center, NYC in 1997. He was also presented with a Physical Fitness Leader Citation from the United States Marine Corps in 1977, a Golden Poet Award from the World of Poetry from 1990 to 1991, and was nominated for the Emily Dickinson award by the Amherst Society in 1991.
In Mr. Arminas' youth, despite all the elements of socioeconomic hardship, he became a leader in academics, instrumental music, and athletics. As an adult, struggling with socioeconomic hardship, as well as being stricken with a debilitating mental illness, he became a leader in creative literature, vocal music, and an expert in color development in the field of cosmetic chemistry. Mr. Arminas has been married to Maria Basora Ruiz, MD since 1987. They have a son, Robert Francis Arminas, and three grandchildren: Lyra Pilar Arminas, Robert Francis Arminas, Jr and Anais Athena Arminas. Mr. Arminas was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science, and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
