Mr. Greenberg received an A.B. cum laude from Syracuse University in 1971 followed by a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1974. That same year, he gained admission to the New Jersey State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and began working as an associate for Carpenter, Bennett & Morrissey. From 1977 to 1979 he was an associate with Cole, Berman & Belsky before going into sole practice for 15 years. He served as partner in Greenberg & Marmorstein, Esqs for three years. He represented the Bergenfield, New Jersey Planning Board from 1993 to 1996. He also represented the Bergenfield Rent Leveling Board for a number of years.
A member of the American Bar Association, as well as its New Jersey, Bergen County and New York State counterparts, Mr. Greenberg has been admitted to a number of courts, including the Courts of New Jersey, the Courts of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Outside of his professional obligations, Mr. Greenberg is an active community member and civil servant who has held leadership positions in a number of organizations. A former president, secretary and treasurer of the Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey, he has been a member of the board of trustees since 2003. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Jewish Home Family, treasurer and member of the board of trustees of the Jewish Home of Rockleigh, secretary and member of the board of trustees of the Jewish Home Assisted Living and vice president and member of the board of trustees of the Jewish Home at Home. He is president and member of the board of directors of the Teaneck Jewish Memorial Association. Additionally, he is a member of the board of directors of the Adler Aphasia Center, and has been a member of the board of directors of the Jewish Institute of Bioethics in Teaneck. Mr. Greenberg has held several positions within the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, such as vice president, campaign chair, treasurer, and member of the board of trustees. In recognition of his support and commitment to advancing the missions of these organizations, accolades with which he has been presented include the Community Resource Council Dr. Harry Brandeis Memorial Community Service Award, the Americanism Award from the Anti-Defamation League, the Guest of Honor Award from the Bnos Menachem Yeshiva for Young Women, the Second Century Award from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, a Community Service Award from Friends of Lubavitch of Bergen County, and the Gates of Jerusalem Award from Boys Town Jerusalem.
