In 1978, Mrs. Posner joined the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Maryland, where she held numerous positions such as television writer/producer, performance technologist, and manager of multimedia services. Products from her areas of responsibility went to the Secretary of Defense and the White House. Mrs. Posner was notably the first woman executive of the Television Center for the National Cryptologic School at Fort Meade.
As a result of her academic and occupational excellence, as well as the mentorship of her husband, Allan Posner, she applied for and received an agency scholarship to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree. She graduated summa cum laude from the College of Norte Dame in 1989 and went on to further her already blossoming career with the National Security Agency as their strategic marketing specialist consistently exhibiting knowledge, skills and abilities within her field. Some of her senior mentors at the agency included William E. Kotwas, Rear Admiral H. Winsor Whiton, USN (Ret.) and Lt. General (Ret.) Kenneth A. Minihan. Due to her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Posner achieved super grade status with the Department of Defense, and was the recipient of the Meritorious Civilian Service Award ii 1998. The award reflected her most significant contributions, which included managing and directing a worldwide three-day effort, the first "Future Day" to introduce a new vision, mission and goals for the 21st century. The award also recognized her for designing a new and more beneficial strategy for submitting the agency's yearly Congressional Budget Justification Book to the U.S. Congress, resulting in a more timely submission and an increased agency budget.
Now celebrating a career spanning more than five decades, she currently contributes to the advertising field as a marketing and multimedia consultant, a position she has held since 1999. She developed her marketing abilities as a fashion and public relations director at Montgomery Ward from 1966 to 1975 and as the president and co-owner of Designer's Circle Ltd. from 1976 to 1978.
Mrs. Posner's career has exhibited impressive range, including such roles as regional director for the Fashion Group, an organization of international fashion executives, from 1972 to 1974. She became involved with the Department of Defense when she decided she wanted to pursue a more academic path.
Also passionate about community outreach, Mrs. Posner has served on numerous committees, including the March of Dimes in Baltimore and the Combined Federal Campaign Committee. Most recently, she served as vice president for Education with Hadassah in Florida in 2008. Keeping abreast of professional developments, Mrs. Posner maintains memberships with Women in Communications, the Human Resources Management Association, the American Federation of TV and Radio Artists, Hadassah and the Pap Corps.
Mrs. Posner is the daughter of the late Morris and Rosabelle Rosen, the wife of the late Allan Posner, and the mother of three very accomplished sons: Larry Gregg Posner, Dr. Michael Glenn Posner and Robert Ira Posner. She is also the grandmother of four granddaughters and two grandsons.
