An expert in medical association management and professional liability insurance, Mr. Lerner began his career in public service in 1970 as an administrative assistant for the Governor of Illinois. He enjoyed the opportunity to serve the public, so the progression into insurance was a natural fit; this move enabled him to work on behalf of members of the community and for the professional liability insurance industry. Prior to his current role, Mr. Lerner was the president of Governmental Affairs, Inc. in Chicago and director of the Illinois State Medical Society.

An elected fellow of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago, Mr. Lerner is also a longtime member of the Association Forum of Chicago, the Chicago Society Association of Executives, the American Society of Association Executives and the American Association of Medical Society Executives, among others. Locally involved with the Conway Farms Golf Club, the Michigan Shores Club, the Chicago Yacht Club, Lyford Cay Club, and the Union League Club, Mr. Lerner also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, collecting nautical antiques and studying presidential history. He is married to his wife, Marianne, and has one child and a grandchild.
