Prior to this appointment, she held the positions of administrative assistant of sales for Perry Holmes, A Joint Venture, from 1994 to 2005 and contracting house researcher for M/PF Research, Inc., from 1989 to 1994, Texas Update, Inc., from 1987 to 1994, and Page, Anderson and Turnbull, Inc., for The Historic Preservation Council for Tarrant County, TX, from 1983 to 1986. Previously, she served as a freelance ceramic and string art designer from 1982 to 1983, department manager for Stripling and Cox from 1982 to 1983, and ceramics and china sales consultant for Dillard's Fort Worth from 1981 to 1982. Ms. Davis began her career as a research and development product line designer for American Handicrafts and Merribee Needlearts from 1977 to 1981.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Davis pursued an education at Texas Christian University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio arts in 1975. She concluded her studies at Texas Christian University in 1977, graduating with a Master of Arts in American studies. During this time, Ms. Davis was associated with Tau Beta Sigma and the Texas Christian University Marching Band.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Davis has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She contributed to Chemical Week on the management advisory panel in 1981, as well as the Democratic Party as an alternative precinct election judge from 1994 to 2006. Ms. Davis held multiple roles for the Tarrant County Elections Administration between 1990 and 2006, including precinct election clerk, alternate election judge, and election judge.
In addition to her primary trade, Ms. Davis remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has maintained involvement with the White Settlement Historical Society, Inc., since 2006, having held the titles of president from 2008 to 2010, assistant treasurer from 2010 to 2011, secretary-treasurer since 2011, and first vice president of programs from 2010 to 2016. An Anchor Club member of the USS Fort Worth Support Committee, she was also active with the Texas Association of Museums, Inc., the Tarrant County Historical Society, Inc., and the Family History Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, Inc. Ms. Davis was a member of the Royal Over-Seas League, the Friends of the Royal Flying Corps Cemetery, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas.
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Davis has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. Featured in the 2018 edition of Marquis Magazine, she was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from the North Texas WWI Centennial Commemoration Committee and Exhibit in 2017, the William E. Jary Junior Memorial Award from the Tarrant County Historical Commission in 2014, and a Certificate of Appreciation from the White Settlement Historical Society in 2009. Ms. Davis has supported the No. 1 BFTS as a member for a number of years. She was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who of American Women.
