Locally, Mr. Thompson served as co-chairman of the Republican National Entertainment Committee, appointed by Governor George Deukmejian of California. Growing up in the small town of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Mr. Thompson heeded his mother's advice to get an education and move to Hollywood and meet those "important" people. Having completed a BBA in 1966 and a JD in 1968 at the University of Mississippi, Mr. Thompson has since been admitted to the Mississippi and California Bar Associations. He also served with Judge Advocate General Corps in the U.S. Army between 1966 and 1972.
