With more than 30 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Le Roux has worked for the French National Research Agency (ANR) as the "institut Carnot" program director since 2012 and as deputy head of investments for the future and the competitiveness department in charge of competitiveness since 2013.
He started his research at University Pierre and Marie Curie of Paris in Micro Architect and Integrated Systems in 1989. He joined Matra Communication France as a researcher specialist in speech processing for phone applications in 1989 and remained until 1994 when he also spent time at the University of Sherbrooke. He contributed as research staff member and team leader to the development of the automatic speech recognition software ViaVoice at the T.J. Watson Research Center at IBM USA from 1995 to 2001. Then, he directed the department of bioinformatics within a Swiss start-up company specialized in predictive medicine and took responsibility of the instrumentation department. He joined Supélec in 2006 as deputy director of research and industrial relationships to develop entrepreneurship, innovation and technology transfer. He co-founded and managed the Center of Student Entrepreneurship called PEEPS (Pôle Entrepreneuriat Etudiant Paris Saclay) in 2010. In 2011, he was elected President of the public incubator, IncubAlliance.
Dr. Le Roux began his teaching activity for ADIA Bureautique in 1987 and as a teacher for GRETA in Mantes-la-Ville in 1988. Dr. Le Roux served as speaker for Telecom Bretagne from 1992 to 1994 and held the position of professor for the International University in Geneva in 2006.
In 1990, he completed service with the French Army as a computer scientist for the Ministère des Armées.
Dr. Le Roux holds a PhD in physics from the University Pierre and Marie Curie of Paris and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Bretagne earned in 1994, and he completed the Mastering Technology Enterprise (MTE) program (eMBA path) at the IMD Lausanne in 2004. He pursued his education at Lycée Camille Pissarro Pontoise in 1985, earning a bachelor's degree. He also holds a master's degree of electronics, electrotechnics and automatic engineering, earned in 1989, and a diploma in advanced studies of electronics, earned in 1990. Dr. Le Roux also earned a Diploma of Animation from the Ministère de la Jeunesse et des Sports in 1984. He further obtained a Diploma of Reanimation in 1985 and the First Aid National Diploma in 1984, both from the Ministère de l'Intérieur. In 2001, Dr. Le Roux was certified in project management fundamentals by George Washington University.
Beyond his responsibilities within his industry, Dr. Le Roux has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. An exhibition participant in the field, he held the role of founding board member for Elec6 from 1994 to 2004 and founder for Connexio in 2004. In addition to his primary trade, Dr. Le Roux remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Electrical Engineering Society and the Electrical and Electricity Society.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Le Roux has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. He has been presented with an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, the First Patent Application Invention Achievement Award both in 1996, and a Research Division Award in 2000, all from IBM and a Top Award from the General Council of Oise Valley in 1988. Dr. Le Roux was selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
