Ltd. in Centurion, South Africa since 1996, Dr. Abrie is an expert in the development of software and design of microwave amplifiers. Dr. Abrie also served as an associate professor of engineering at the University of Pretoria for a year and as a lecturer for 10 years.
AMPSA was established in 1986 from research conducted on amplifier design techniques at the University of Pretoria. AMPSA's services were initially focused on designing and fabricating RF and microwave amplifiers to its clients in South Africa. The Amplifier Design Wizard (ADW) and Impedance Matching Wizard (IMW) were developed in this process as design tools. A longstanding member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (Microwave Theory and Techniques Society), Dr. Abrie first earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) at Pretoria University in 1976, followed by a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors), Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering at Pretoria University between 1981 and 1986.
Dr. Abrie has contributed several articles to professional magazines in his area of expertise. He also published several books. In 2009, the second edition of his book "Design of RF and Microwave Amplifiers and Oscillators" was released. "Q-Match: Lumped-Element Impedance Matching Software" was released in 2001 and "The Design of Impedance - Matching Networks for Radio-Frequency and Microwave Amplifiers" in 1985.
