After accruing more than 30 years of global financial industry experience, Mr. Hooper retired from the field and then served as the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Diana Vincent, Inc. from 2006 to 2010. Earlier in his career, he was a senior consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co. He then worked for American Airlines as a senior profitability analyst, specifically on the team that developed business class service. Next, Mr. Hooper was with Citicorp as vice president in advanced development, and Citishare Corporation as senior vice president, member of the executive team, and board member.
An expert in the field of global retail electronic funds transfer, Mr. Hooper holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering, a Master of Science in engineering and industrial economics, as well as a Master of Business Administration, all from Columbia University. He has earned a patent in the field of retail electronic funds transfer and had the honor of being inducted into the Theta Tau National Professional Engineering Fraternity Alumni Hall of Fame.
Mr. Hooper is a graduate of the Barnes Foundation (2014) in art and aesthetics, with emphasis on innovation in art as viewed through impressionist, post-impressionist and early modern artwork. He is a professional member of the American Society of Media Photographers and affiliated with the Royal Photographic Society. At Parsons School of Design, 1991-1993, he was a pioneering instructor in digital imaging and in computers in photography. His photographic works are in private collections, and have been featured on TV, in newspapers and magazines, in juried shows, in public exhibits, and elsewhere, for example on the cover of the Franklin Institute Science Museum Visitors' Guide.
Additionally, he is a leader in charitable activities and ventures. Mr. Hooper mentors in Columbia University's Entrepreneurship Program and was cited for "Building Business Savvy" with mentees. He developed the business advisory council for an intergenerational care facility, and is on several boards: Plant a Seed, Inspire a Dream Foundation, Heritage Dance Foundation, and the Salter Path Museum. In 2015, Plant A Seed, Inspire A Dream, awarded him as volunteer of the year. Mr. Hooper intends to continue his charitable efforts in the years to come, focused on K-12 programs to foster STEAM education and the arts.
He has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
