An illustrious and accomplished music professional, Mr. Suverkrop has amassed more than four decades of professional excellence in his area of expertise. He is the founder and principal author of IPA Source, the world's largest library of International Phonetic Alphabet transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and art song texts. To date, Mr. Suverkrop's work has resulted in more than 12,000 translations and IPA transcriptions, and his services have been utilized by more than 48,000 singers and teachers from around the world. Presently, more than 375 universities have subscribed to his website. Fluent in French, German and Italian, Mr. Suverkrop also translates Latin texts for his service.

Prior to founding his own business, Mr. Suverkrop was a full professor of voice and opera at Shenandoah University from 2002 to 2007, having previously served as associate professor of voice and opera from 1997 to 2002. From 1993 to 1997, he was an assistant professor of voice at the University of Southern California, having previously been a visiting assistant professor of voice and theater at Butler University from 1992 to 1993. Mr. Suverkrop commenced his career as an educator as an adjunct instructor of voice at Miami University from 1977 to 1978.

Mr. Suverkrop has spent the majority of his professional career as a renowned opera singer, having been featured in the Cincinnati Opera, the Pittsburgh Opera Theatre, the Indiana Opera Theatre, the Shinsei Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo, Japan, and the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra. Likewise, he has performed countless operas in Germany, including with the Baden-Baden Orchestra, the Hof Opera, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Bremerhaven City Theater, the Heidelberg Opera, the Cologne Opera and the Aachen Opera, among others. In addition, Mr. Suverkrop has directed myriad operas throughout his career, such as "Hansel and Gretel," "Così fan tutte," "The Bartered Bride," "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and "The Barber of Seville."

To prepare for his esteemed career, Mr. Suverkrop pursued a formal education at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in opera, art song and oratorio and a Master of Music in vocal performance in 1974 and 1976, respectively and was the pupil of the Italian bass, Italo Tajo. The author of "Lyric Diction for Singers," he has also authored book reviews for the American Music Teacher. In an effort to remain aware of changes within the industry, Mr. Suverkrop maintains affiliation with Opera America, the College Music Society, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and Pi Kappa Lambda.

Considering his exceptional achievements in music, Mr. Suverkrop was honored with First Place award at the Erika Koeth International Vocal Competition in 1984. He has additionally been highlighted in the 58th edition of Who's Who in America. However, the highlights of his career were being the only American representative to sing in the International Shinsei Symphony Orchestra in 1996 and being the first American to sing in Korean with the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra between 1994 and 1996.
