With more than 60 years of professional experience, Mr. Caro has been the chief executive officer of CMC Associates since 2001. Prior to obtaining his current role, he was a vice president of Automation Research Corporation from 1997 to 2001, senior manager of Arthur D. Little, Inc., from 1988 to 1997, and president of the ControlMaster Corporation from 1985 to 1988. From 1981 to 1985, he was the vice president of marketing at Autech Data Systems, Inc., and from 1978 to 1981, he was the director of process marketing at Modular Computer Systems. Earlier in his career, Mr. Caro was the director of advanced development with the Foxboro Company from 1970 to 1978, senior engineer with Union Camp Corporation from 1962 to 1970, and a process engineer with Ethyl Corporation from 1957 to 1962.
Initially intending to pursue chemical engineering, Mr. Caro began his career as a student at the University of Florida, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1957. He then joined Louisiana State University, completing a Master of Science in 1964. He subsequently studied at the Alexander Hamilton Institute, earning a Master of Business Administration in 1972. Mr. Caro is a certified automation professional by the International Society of Automation.
A respected voice in the field, Mr. Caro is a Fellow of the International Society of Automation, for which he has served as chair of SP50, member of the Fieldbus standards committee, and the Florida Gold Coast chapter president. Additionally, he has been recognized as a fellow of the Industrial Computer Society. For his contributions to the field, Mr. Caro has received numerous accolades and honors throughout his career, including having been featured in Who's Who in the Midwest.
