Pastor Davis is a longtime clergyman who first became a pastor at the Lake Ruth Baptist Church in Bartow, FL, in 1963. Serving the Lord nearly every year since, he has pastored at number of churches across Florida, including Wauchula Hills Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in Lake Mary and First Baptist Church in Terra Ceia. He also served as a minister to senior adults and was director of the Golden Agers at the West Bradenton Baptist Church between 1990 and 1991. Retiring in 2002 due to several health issues, Pastor Davis was able to return to serve five years later as a pastor at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Bowling Green, where he remains today.
Serving on the board of directors of the United Christian Action in Jacksonville for 16 years between 1974 and 1990, Pastor Davis joined the Rotary Club of Lake Mary in November 1973 and joined the Rotary Club of South Manatee in Bradenton in 1977 to 2006 and then moved to Bowling Green and joined the Rotary Club of Hardee County where he has been for 12 years and was made the Rotarian of the Year 2018 by the Rotary Club of Hardee County.
Pastor Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry from the Bethany Divinity College and Seminary in 1983 and a Master of Arts in Ministry from Bethany Theological Seminary in 1984. He formerly served in the U.S. Army between 1956 and 1959. Pastor Davis has been highlighted in the fourth edition of Who's Who in Religion and the 22nd edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest. Born in Bowling Green, Pastor Davis was married to his first wife Myrtie Sue Smith of Bartow for 29 years until her death in 1987. He married Marilyn M. Duden Zippay in 1988 which ended in divorce in 1993. He married Ollie Mae Perry July 8, 19956 in Bradenton and was married to her until her death on December 31, 2016. He is the proud father of two daughters.
