Dallas' Stan Levenson Honored With the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award From Marquis Who's Who

    DALLAS, TX, August 29, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Stan Levenson, APR, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime. Achievement Award.

For more than five decades, Mr. Levenson and his wife and professional partner Barbara Levenson, have unselfishly contributed to the growth and success of their valued clients, colleagues and the vibrant communities in which they live and serve. Widely recognized as value-driven and civic-minded professionals, Stan and Barbara Levenson's public relations, advertising and promotion agencies have included Stan Levenson Associates; Levenson and Levenson; Levenson and Brinker Public Relations; and Levenson, Levenson and Hill. Following the sale of Levenson, Levenson and Hill in 2013, Levenson Strategic Communication Advisors, LLC was organized and founded to provide reputation management and image development counsel and services.

Throughout his celebrated career, Mr. Levenson has proudly served and supported several leading educational, cultural, environmental and economic development organizations and institutions. Following their agency's merger with Bozell & Jacobs in 1976, he worked in Dallas as Executive Vice President and general manager of the Public Relations division. Prior to that successful collaboration with B&J, the Levenson's established one of the first integrated marketing communications agencies in Dallas. Advertising, promotion and PR were strategically packaged to deliver optimum results and greater value.

Mr. Levenson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Michigan in 1956. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army for two years, and while stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA, he attended night classes at the American University in Washington D.C. to pursue a master's degree and to advance his education in journalism and marketing communications.

Following his military service, Mr. Levenson launched an adventure into music sales, record promotion and distribution. He was sent to Dallas in 1959, and worked as a regional sales and promotion manager for DOT Records of Hollywood, California. Pat Boone, Lawrence Welk and Billy Vaughn were the label's featured performers. From 1963-65 throughout the southwest, Levenson marketed budget-priced, $1.98, record albums for Pickwick International. He also was privileged to represent and promote Motown Records during their artists' heydays in the mid '60's.

Mr. Levenson has not at all limited his professionalism and volunteerism to his business and family interests. He taught as an adjunct professor in Public Relations Management at Southern Methodist University in 1987 & 1988. Additionally, Mr. Levenson has been a board member of the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education, Tolerance and Human Rights; also SMU's Perkins School of Theology and SMU's Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Division.

He was a long-time member of the Society of Professional Journalists and has been actively associated with the Public Relations Society of America for several decades. Mr. Levenson also has worked on publicizing special events for The American Heart Association and serving as a director and committee chairman at the Greater Dallas Chamber, devoting leadership and professionalism to the marketing and communications advancement counsel from 2000 to 2009.

Mr. Levenson also was active in helping promote the Super Bowl XLV while serving on the Super Bowl Host Committee in 2009. Additionally, he served as Chairman of the Dallas Urban League. whose social services and grants to families in need were most meaningful and dramatic. "It was an honor and privilege to work with such a caring organization," he emphasized. Mr. Levenson also demonstrated his enthusiasm and professionalism in directing the grand opening of the African-American Museum in Dallas. The Sammons Center for the Arts and the Dallas Citizens Council also provided outstanding opportunities for him to contribute to their growth and successes.

Mr. Levenson is known to be highly civic and social minded--volunteering his experience and talents to numerous non-profits and cause-related organizations. His years of participation also include serving as group leader on the communications task force for the Dallas Police Department and as an associate member of the Dallas Assembly; also as a board member for the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden; volunteering with the Visiting Nurses Association, the Dallas Council on World Affairs and currently as a long-standing advisory board member in the Texas Trees Foundation, the University of North Texas College of Music, the Jewish Family Service Foundation and the Arts and Humanities Division at the University of Texas at Dallas.

In recognition of his dedication and significant contributions, Mr. Levenson has been the recipient of dozens of coveted awards…most notably with his wife Barbara into the American Advertising Federation's Southwest Advertising Hall of Fame. In 2005, he was presented with the A. Maceo Smith Community Service Award for his advocacy and leadership in the African-American community; also, in the years that followed, the Dallas Jewish Chamber's Bridge Builder Award and Dallas' Father of the Year Award. Mr. Levenson's accolades also include the Sammons Center's Jazz Benefactor of the Year Award, the Dallas PRSA Teich Award for Community Services and being distinguished in 2005, as recipient of Southern Methodist University's very first Legendary Communicator Award.
