Frances Sippel-Wetmore Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Frances Sippel-Wetmore was recognized as an Outstanding Woman by the West Chester Branch of the American Association of University Women in 1991.

With more than 40 years of industry experience, Ms. Sippel-Wetmore is currently retired, having most recently worked as the owner of Color Profile in Westchester, PA, from 1982 to 1997. Prior to this appointment, she held the positions of sales representative for Quick Courier Service Inc. from 1977 to 1982, secretary-treasurer for the Can-Am Sales Corporation from 1972 to 1973, and chemist for DuPont USA from 1960 to 1966. Previously, she served Biological Abstracts as an assistant editor from 1959 to 1960, the Wistar Institute as a research assistant to Dr. Leonard Hayflick from 1958 to 1959, and Shadyside Hospital as a bacteriologist from 1956 to 1957. Ms. Sippel-Wetmore began her career as a research assistant to Dr. T.S. Danowski at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in 1956 as well as to Dr. Jonas Salk at the University of Pittsburgh in 1955.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Sippel-Wetmore pursued an education at Hood College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in biology and chemistry, with honors, in 1952. She continued her academic efforts with postgraduate coursework from 1952 to 1954 at the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania. Ms. Sippel-Wetmore concluded her studies in 1956 at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a Master of Science in microbiology.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Sippel-Wetmore has participated in numerous endeavors in her professional circles. From 1980 to 1997, she contributed to the Board of Directors for the Emergency Medical Services of Chester County, PA. She also held the roles of chair of House Acquisitions in 1995 and co-chair of the Holiday House Tour from 1989 to 1993. Ms. Sippel-Wetmore found success with her charitable works, having volunteered for YWCA USA, Delaware Reads, Flagler Volunteer Services, and I Can Read.

In addition to her primary trade, Ms. Sippel-Wetmore remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She maintained involvement as chair of the Chester County Council for the League of Women Voters from 1993 to 1995, former president of the Philadelphia Hood College Club, and on the Antiques Show Committee for the Chester County Historical Society. Professionally, she was also active with the American Society of Microbiologists, Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, and the American Chemical Society. Furthermore, Ms. Sippel-Wetmore was a member of the Hammock Dunes Club and the Wilmington Country Club.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Sippel-Wetmore has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. She was recognized as an Outstanding Woman by the West Chester Branch of the American Association of University Women in 1991. Ms. Sippel-Wetmore was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
