In addition to his primary roles, he served as interim executive pastor of the Denver First Church of the Nazarene in 1993. From 1988 to 1993 he was president, chief executive officer, and board chair of Green International, Inc., and from 1976 to 1988, he was executive vice president of Austin Industries, Inc. Earlier in his career, Mr. McClung was an associate with Jackson & Walker from 1973 to 1976.
Mr. McClung began his career as a student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, formerly known as Northeast Louisiana State College, from 1961 to 1962, also completing coursework with McNeese State University in 1963. In 1965, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in business administration, cum laude, from Southern Nazarene University, and he served in the United States Air Force as a captain and pilot from 1965 to 1971. Completing postgraduate coursework with the University of Oklahoma from 1967 to 1968, Mr. McClung earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Baylor University in 1973. He has been admitted to practice in the state of Texas, as well as before the United States District Court of the Northern District of Teas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Throughout his career, Mr. McClung has been recognized for his contributions, including having received six Air Medals for his military service. He was the recipient of a Young Graduates Award of Merit from Baylor University, an Outstanding Alumni Award from Southern Nazarene University, and a Distinguished Service Award from the Church of the Nazarene. Mr. McClung has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World.
