With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Trestman was a staff engineer with OSRAM Sylvania from 1998 to 2012. Prior to obtaining this role, he was a senior design engineer with Astex CPI from 1996 to 1998 and with Keltron Power Systems from 1994 to 1996. Earlier in his career, Dr. Trestman was a project engineer with Glassman High Voltage, Inc., from 1992 to 1994 and a chief research scientist with Tajik National University in Tajikistan from 1973 to 1991.
Dr. Trestman began his career as a student at Tajik National University, obtaining a Master of Science in physics in 1973. He later studied at the N. N. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics with the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in photochemistry in 1982. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
A respected voice in the field, Dr. Trestman has continued his work into his retirement, having authored the book "Powering Laser Diode Systems" in 2017, which was published by SPIE Press. Throughout his career, his achievements have led to 14 Soviet patents, as well as eight United States patents. He has been featured in numerous honors publications for his contributions, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America. In his free time, Dr. Trestman enjoys playing table tennis.
