Arthur C. Anton Sr. has been recognized as the honorary chairman of the Clergy-Laity Congress in 2018 and Man of the Year by the City of Lowell in 1958.

With 30 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Anton is currently retired, having most recently worked as president of Anton's Cleaners from 1956 to 1980. Prior to this appointment, he held the positions of president of the United Fund of Greater Lowell in 1965, as well as director of Union National Bank of Lowell, Conifer Holdings, Inc., and the Bank of New England. Previously, he served Anton's Cleaners as general manager from 1952 to 1956 and manager in 1951. Mr. Anton began his career as a trainee at Anton's Cleaners in 1950.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Anton completed service with the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. Following this accomplishment, he pursued an education at Boston University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1950 and was named Man of the Year of the Class of 1950. Mr. Anton concluded his studies at the National Institute of Drycleaning, completing coursework from 1950 to 1951.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Anton has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. Since 1990, he has contributed to the executive committee and finance committee for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America. He held the role of trustee for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell and Boston University from 1977 to 1979, the Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology from 1972 to 1980, and the American College of Greece from 1973 to 1982. The national chairman of the League of Greek Orthodox Stewards from 1972 to 1982, he excelled at Lowell General Hospital as vice chairman from 1976 to 1981 and chairman from 1981 to 1986. From 1972 to 1976, Mr. Anton found success on the board of visitors of Boston University and on the board of directors for the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Anton remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He had maintained involvement with the Cleaning Plant Owners Massachusetts as vice president from 1955 to 1956, Boston University Alumni as president in 1958, Rotary International as president from 1965 to 1966, and the International Fabricare Institute as director from 1983 to 1987. He was also active with the Boston University College of Business Administration Alumni Association as president from 1975 to 1977 and on the executive committee. Mr. Anton was a member of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce from 1958 to 1960 and the Order of Ahepa in 1953.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Anton has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. He has been recognized as the honorary chairman of the Clergy-Laity Congress in 2018, Man of the Year by the City of Lowell in 1958, Man of the Year in the College of Business Administration by Boston University in 1950, and All-University Class President for the Class of 1950 by Boston University. He was presented with an Alumni Award from Boston University in 1978, an Aristotelian Award from the Order of Ahepa in 1979, the Business and Professor National Award from the Religious Heritage of America in 1989, a Distinguished Alumni Award from Lowell High School in 2013, and an Award from the Greater Lowell Community Foundation in 2014. Moreover, Mr. Anton was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in the East.
