After spending many years developing his skill set in sales, underwriting, claims and other aspects of the insurance industry, he went back and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's University in San Antonio in 1973. Mr. Veitch is currently a shareholder for Langley & Banack, where he has worked since 2004, and his prior firms include Veitch & Britt PC, where he worked from 1974 to 1981, Veitch & Associates, where he worked until 1995, and Soules & Wallace, where he worked until 2003. Exhibiting significant knowledgeability in his field, he authored the books, "What You Need to Know to Settle With Insurance Companies" in 1991 and "The Consultant's Guide to Litigation Services: How to be an Expert Witness" in 1992.
Also contributing to the Texas Legal Protection Plan as director and chair, Mr. Veitch draws upon certification from the State Bar of Texas as well as certification in estate planning and probate law in his professional undertakings. Mr. Veitch holds additional certifications as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Life Underwriter and Certified Insurance Counselor, and he attributes much of his occupational success to mentors who reached out to him as he was originally establishing his practice. Due to his unparalleled expertise in the field of law, Mr. Veitch has received numerous awards and honors, including the Outstanding Lawyer Award from the San Antonio Business Journal, the Standard Setter Award from the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Society, and recognition in such publications as Best Lawyers in Texas, Best Lawyers in San Antonio Insurance Coverage, and Best Lawyers in America (Insurance Coverage).
Demonstrating persistent focus in the legal arena, Mr. Veitch has fulfilled additional work as director and secretary of the State Bar of Texas Insurance Trust, among other positions with organizations in his field. He maintains membership with the American Association of Insurance Management Consultants, with whom he has been a director and officer since 1994, the San Antonio Bar Foundation, for whom he served as chair in 2002, and the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Society, for whom he was a national committee member for the consultant and litigation section for a ten year period. Likewise, he has a history of involvement and leadership with such prominent organizations as the Association of Attorney-Mediators and St. Mary's Law Alumni Association. Alongside his professional outreach, he has contributed to his community through leadership involvement with Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare, Local Board 113 of the Selective Service and the downtown San Antonio Rotary Club.
