GARDEN GROVE, CA, September 25, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Judy Immel with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Immel celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In 1988, Ms. Immel accepted a two-year teaching position at North Orange County Community College. During this time, she also was a teacher at Whittier Adult and Occupational School. Ms. Immel went on to become a teacher at Puente Hills High School in Hacienda Heights, California from 1990 to 1992 and then at Garey High School in Pomona, California for the following year.

From 1993 to 2010, Ms. Immel was a teacher for the Office of Education for the County of Los Angeles. She had been teaching at Downey Adult School since 1988. She was a school administrator for Los Angeles County Office of Education and for Orange County Department of Education from 1997 to 2002. She went back to classroom teaching in 2002 and retired in 2010. Additionally, Ms. Immel has served as an interior designer in California since 1978. She began her professional career as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego.

It was always Ms. Immel's dream to become a teacher, but it wasn't until later in life that she was able to pursue that dream. In 1984, she received her Bachelor of Science in home economics from California State Polytechnic University. She continued her education at the same academic institution and earned her Master of Arts in education in 1988. Beyond these achievements, she is a certified elementary, secondary, adult, and postsecondary teacher in the state of California. Ms. Immel also has credentials in secondary administration.

From 1990 to 1992, Ms. Immel held a position as adviser on the Home Economics Designated Subjects Credential Board in Pomona, California. Not only is she an author of curriculum in the field, but she also was the newsletter editor for the Home Economic District Association in 1992 and the Home Economic Alumni Association from 1988 to 1992. Despite all of these impressive accomplishments, she considers the highlight of her career to be her interactions with underserved students who were unlikely to graduate. She recalls a moment when one of her former students praised her and credited her teaching and mentorship as the reason she went to college. This student was among several who expressed such sentiments to Ms. Immel.

Even out of the classroom, Ms. Immel is still making an impact in the community. She is a district cultural director of the Sons of Norway and is a member of the American Home Economics Association, the Golden Key National Honor Society, and Phi Upsilon Omicron. When she is not working with one of these organizations or in school, she enjoys quilt-making, gardening, needlework, and reading. Ms. Immel was previously featured in Who's Who in American Education.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Immel has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
