He initially earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1976 (having been elected to the National Political Science Honor Society Pi Sigma Alpha) and went on to obtain a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1979. Before establishing his own firm, Mr. Reeg worked as a partner, managing partner and practice group leader at several significant law firms, including Coburn Croft & Putzell, Gallop, Johnson & Neuman, and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, among others.
Extremely qualified in his field, Mr. Reeg has been admitted to practice in four (4) states (Missouri, Illinois Kansas and Nebraska) as well as in numerous federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, the Districts of Arizona and Colorado, and the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. He has also been admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Second, Seventh and Eighth Circuits. In addition to his primary work, Mr. Reeg taught as an instructor in legal research and writing at Saint Louis University from l979 to 1980, taught at the Litigation Management College at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and numerous other seminars and conferences around the United States.
Mr. Reeg has authored myriad contributions to his field, including the Andrew C. Hecker Award winning article presented by the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) regarding the legal field of e-commerce and products liability. He also wrote "The [Suicide] Survivors Club" for Super Lawyers Magazine in 2017, co-authored "Can BioMarkers and Genetics Help Predict the Future of Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma" for FDCC Insights in 2017, wrote and presented "Emerging Risks for the Insurance Industry: What's Coming Next" at the National Forum for Environmental and Toxic Tort Issues in 2016, and appeared on "An Analysis of Toxic Tort Trends," Environmental Watch, American Airlines, www.skyradionet.com in 2003, among countless other articles, papers and speeches.
Interested from a young age in civil litigation defense, Mr. Reeg is proudest of the cases he has won for his clients, especially a notable case where he helped a minority student fight discrimination in an academic setting. He is well-known for buying souvenirs for needy children he does not know at various sporting events. Due to his devotion to his field, he has been listed in Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers, Nation's Top Mass Tort Litigators and Martindale-Hubbell's AV Preeminent Peer Review (the highest status given to attorneys). Interested in civic outreach, he was given the Community Service Recognition Award from Saint Louis Small Business Monthly in 2016, was named to the 2017 Missouri Bar Pro Bono Wall of Fame for his "superior dedication and leadership in making access to justice a reality for those who cannot afford legal counsel" for his putting in at least 100 pro bono hours of service each year for the last several years, and has served on the Board of Trustees and Civilian Advisory Boards for the Missouri Baptist Medical Center and served on the Boards of Directors on Business Counsel, Inc. (an international law firm network) and Life Crisis Services (a suicide prevention hotline). He was also a member of his local police and fire commission. Demonstrating consistent interest in his professional area, Mr. Reeg maintains involvement with the Product Liability Advisory Council, the Forum on Environmental and Toxic Tort Issues and several other prominent organizations.
