Kenneth "Ken" William Goddard is a forensic scientist who has been serving as a laboratory director at the National Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory since 1987.

Mr. Goddard is a forensic scientist who has been serving as a laboratory director at the National Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory since 1987. He previously excelled as the chief of the forensic branch of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Washington between 1979 and 1987. Prior to his work in wildlife forensics, he devoted 11 years of his career to police law enforcement, initially working as a criminalist as part of the Crime Scene Investigation unit for the Riverside County Sheriff's Office from 1968 to 1969 and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department from 1969 to 1972. From 1972 to 1979, Mr. Goddard found success as the chief criminalist for the Huntington Beach Police Department.
For six years, Mr. Goddard was an advisor and instructor for the coral reef crime scene investigation program with the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI), beginning in 2006. During his tenure in the field, he most notably established a way to investigate damaged coral reefs and train international coral reef crime scene investigators. Mr. Goddard also developed the first full-service national and international wildlife crime laboratory in the world. Receiving multiple awards in honor of his accomplishments, he received a Special Achievement Award from The San Diego Zoological Society in 2008. He further obtained The Guy Bradley Award, which is granted in the spirit of Guy Bradley, the first game warden to give his life in the line of wildlife law enforcement, from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation in 1994. Furthermore, Mr. Goddard was recognized among the 10 Most Outstanding Supervisors and Managers by the Fish and Wildlife Service in 1989, and received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of California, Riverside campus, in 1992.
Writing for many years, in 1972 Mr. Goddard published his first non-fiction book, "Crime Scene Investigation." He later authored 11 fictional books between 1972 and 2014, including "Balefire" in 1983, "Double Blind" in 1997 and "Final Disposition in 2011. He is an active member of the Authors Guild and the Mystery Writers of America. He is also a charter member of the American Association of Crime Laboratory Directors and member of the Council of Federal Forensic Laboratory Directors. Additionally, Mr. Goddard is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
Highlighted in the 59th edition of Who's Who in America, Mr. Goddard has also been cited in several editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the West. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside, in 1968 and a Master of Science in Criminalistics from California State University in 1971.
