Norman Billups retired from his roles as dean and pharmacy professor at the University of Toledo.

After accruing more than four decades of practiced experience in pharmaceutical education, Dr. Billups retired from his roles as dean and pharmacy professor at the University of Toledo. Over the years, he has also worked with the University of Kentucky and Oregon State University. Today, he still maintains his role as a pharmacist after starting in Kentucky in the mid-1960s. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the Ohio and American Pharmacists Associations, the Toledo Academy of Pharmacy and the Council of Ohio Colleges of Pharmacy. He is married to Shirley (Brooks) Billups, RN, LPC for over 60 years.
An expert in his field, Dr. Billups holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in pharmacy and a Doctor of Philosophy from Oregon State University. Throughout his career, he has been recognized many times for his professional accomplishments, earning the Lyman Award in Research from the American Association of the Colleges of Pharmacy, an Outstanding Service Award from the Kentucky Pharmacists Association, the Beal Outstanding Service Award from the Ohio Pharmacists Association and two Lyman Achievement Awards through the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Additionally, he has been featured in the 20th edition of Who's Who in the West, the 50th Edition of Who's Who in America, contributed his extensive knowledge to more than 120 articles in refereed scientific and professional journals, and was the editor of the annually published reference book American Drug Index from 1977 to 2016. In the coming years, Dr. Billups intends to experience the continued success of his career while cementing his legacy as a prominent pharmacy educator and researcher.
