Leading up to this position, he worked as the vice president of asset management at Paine Webber Co. in Denver, CO from 1978 to 1992. From 1975 to 1978, he served as the vice president of corporate finance at White Weld & Co. in Denver, CO. Prior to this post, he was a director of research at Boettcher & Co. in Denver, CO from 1971 to 1975 and a manager of research at Anderson & Co. in New York, NY. Mr. Davis' first professional role was as a research analyst at Fahnestock & Co. in New York, NY from 1963 to 1967.
Mr. Davis began his academic pursuits at Princeton University where his brother, uncle, and grandfather attended school. He did not have an enjoyable experience so he withdrew in 1959 when his aunt gave him a sail boat. He taught himself to sail and sailed all over the world, including to Africa and Nova Scotia. After completing his sailing adventures, he continued his academics at Princeton and graduated with honors in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in geology. Mr. Davis furthered his studies at Stanford University where, in 1963, he graduated with a Master's degree in Business Administration.
He was accredited as a certified chartered financial analyst in 1969 and Mr. Davis has been a trustee and investment officer with the Thenen Foundation in Montclair, NJ since 1966. He joined the Bozeman Rotary Club in 1993 and served as the Treasurer of the Gallatin Historical Society from 2015 to 2018. He has been the President of the Bozeman Interfaith Housing, a provider of local low income housing, from 1992 to present.
Throughout the years, Mr. Davis has been acknowledged for his accomplishments with awards including Rotarian of the Year from the Bozeman Noon Rotary Club in 2015. He was elected a Fellow of the Financial Analysts Federation in 1974. Mr. Davis has previously been featured in Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the West for many years.
