Mr. Brady began his career as an underwriter at Lumber Mutual Insurance Company in Boston, Massachusetts from 1962 to 1967. Following this appointment, he served as a trial attorney with Continental Insurance Company Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts from 1969 to 1972. From 1972 to 1976, he was attorney in the government affairs and law division of the property-casualty department of Travelers Insurance in Hartford, Connecticut. After this opportunity, he worked as general counsel for Shelby Mutual Life Insurance Company in Shelby, Ohio from 1977 to 1979. From 1979 to 2006, he was self-employed as a sole practitioner attorney in Somerville, Massachusetts. Mr. Brady has been a self-employed freelance author in Winchester, Massachusetts since 2001.
Mr. Brady has had a number of books published, including novels and short story collections. He is author of "Last in My Class: How Humor Helped me Survive Alcoholism" in 2001, "Good Grief!: About Relationships and Other Short Stories That Make You Wish They Were Shorter" in 2004 and "Georgie! My Georgie!: The First Greek-American to Win the Medal of Honor" in 2005. Other books to his credit include "A Case of First Impression," published in 2008, "Over the Rail: Courtroom Trauma" in 2011, "Malpractice: Courtroom Trauma" in 2015 and "Gender Wars: How Humor can Make Peace" in 2017. He is currently working a book entitled "The Last of Priestley's, Sports Legends." Mr. Brady has also been a guest columnist for the Winchester Star in Massachusetts.
Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Brady obtained his Bachelor of Science in business administration from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in 1963. Following this accomplishment, he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts in 1968. He received his bar certification from the Massachusetts Federal Court from 1969 to 2006. Mr. Brady was additionally certified as a chartered life underwriter and a chartered property and casualty underwriter.
In addition to his career, Mr. Brady served with the Reserve Officers' Training Corps from 1958 to 1962. He also worked as a church teacher in Woburn, Massachusetts from 1965 to 1966. During this time, he was also a Little League coach in Avon, Connecticut from 1972 to 1976. He taught Insurance Law as an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University in Mansfield, OH in 1978 and at Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 1980. From 1969 to 2006, he was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Trial Lawyers Association and the Toastmasters International. Mr. Brady was also an honorary, non-serving member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States from 2003 to 2011.
In 1957, Mr. Brady was selected by the Track Coaches Association to represent Massachusetts in the 60-yard-dash in the National Track Meet at Madison Square Garden, after he placed first with the fastest time in the state of Massachusetts. He was also co-captain of the Matignon High School football team and Most Valuable Player of the high school baseball team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. From 1958 to 1962, he was recipient of an Athletic Scholarship to Northeastern University and he received the Scholar-Athlete Award from Temple Shalom in Newton Massachusetts in 1961. He was named to the High School Hall of Fame at Matignon High School for competing in football, baseball and track in 1996. Mr. Brady has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple issues of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.
