Mr. Strauss began his career as a microwave system design engineer at Collins Radio Company, now known as Rockwell Collins, Inc., in Richardson, TX, from 1961 to 1969. Following this appointment, he was senior sales representative for the Digital Equipment Corporation of Maynard, MA, from 1970 to 1978. From 1978 to 1979, he was director of marketing at General Instrument Corporation in Chandler, AZ. After this opportunity, he served as vice president of market research at Integrated Circuit Engineering Corporation in Scottsdale, AZ, from 1979 to 1983. In 1983, he joined In-Stat, Inc., as executive vice president. Mr. Strauss concluded his career as president of Forward Concepts in Tempe, AZ, from 1984 to 2017.
Prior to his career, Mr. Strauss received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1961. Following this achievement, he obtained his Master of Science in engineering administration from Southern Methodist University in 1969.
In addition to his career, Mr. Strauss was editor of a number of reports, including the Status of the Integrated Circuit Industry from 1980 to 1984, Electronic Packaging Strategies for the '80s in 1982, the Integrated Circuit Engineering ICECAP Report from 1982 to 1983, and the In-Stat Research Letter in 1984. He also authored numerous articles for Forward Concepts during his tenure there. Outside of his career-related endeavors, Mr. Strauss was an assistant cubmaster with Boy Scouts of America in Mesa, AZ, from 1980 to 1982 and has been an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scouts of America from 1983 to 1985.
Mr. Strauss is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and during his time at the Georgia Institute of Technology, he was president of the amateur radio club. He was the recipient of a Mathematics Achievement Award in 1957 and was considered for Leading Marketing Researcher in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) in the 1980s through the early 2000s. Mr. Strauss has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in the West.
