With more than 50 years of professional experience, Ms. Lee has been a private music instructor since 1973. Prior to obtaining this role, she was a music teacher with the Newton Public Schools in Massachusetts from 1969 to 1972 and with the Edmonton Public Schools in Alberta, Canada, from 1967 to 1969. Earlier in her career, Ms. Lee was a teacher with the Upper Darby School District in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, from 1965 to 1967.
Ms. Lee was inspired to pursue a career in the field by her mother, who was an accomplished pianist. She began her career as a student at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in music in 1964. She continued her studies with the University of Pennsylvania, completing a Master of Education in 1965. She subsequently earned a Master of Arts in musicology from the University of Georgia in Athens in 1977. Ms. Lee is certified by the Georgia Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.
A respected leader in her community, Ms. Lee has been active with a number of organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. The former president of the Parents' Organization of Music in Athens, she has also served as vice president, president and treasurer of the Athens Music Teachers Association. A member of the Music Teachers National Association, Ms. Lee was vice president and coordinator of piano auditions for the Georgia Music Teachers Association.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lee has been recognized for her contributions. She has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who of American Women and the 21st edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
