BRUNSWICK, OH, October 17, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Kathleen Dome Minarik with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Dome Minarik celebrates many years of experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Dome Minarik was an English and reading teacher with Parma City Schools from 1973 to 2004, also serving as department chair from 1990 to 2004. In addition to her work in the field, she was vice president and president of the Medina County Vocational Board and the Brunswick Board of Education. The drama club advisor and play director for several schools in the district, she was also a yearbook advisor, an English curriculum writer, and a writing curriculum writer. Ms. Dome Minarik was also on the English textbook adoption committee, the reading materials committee, and the reading curriculum committee.
Ms. Dome Minarik began her career as a student at Cleveland State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1973. Ms. Dome Minarik is certified as an English and reading teacher in the state of Ohio and is a member of the National Education Association, the Parma Education Association, the Ohio Education Association and the Northeast Ohio Education Association.
Ms. Minarik was inspired to pursue a career in education by her seventh-grade science teacher, who allowed her to keep his grade book. She found that she had a natural talent for leadership in education, and later in her career, she ran for school board during a challenging time in her community, as the previous leadership had allowed a strike to occur that divided the district and sent 41 teachers to jail.
