Ms. Loomis began her career as a librarian for Gallup McKinley County Schools on the Navajo Indian Reservation from 1974 to 1982. After obtaining a cinematography degree she also became a video camera operator for the First Foursquare Church of Van Nuys in California from 1984 to 1999. During this time, she also was the founding librarian at King's University in Van Nuys from 1987 to 1999. From 1999 to 2008, she held the role of librarian at the Pasadena Public Library in California. Additionally, Ms. Loomis served as an adjunct faculty member of the library technician program at Pasadena City College in California from 2000 to 2008.
Ms. Loomis worked as cataloguing manager for Library Associates helping Tulane University recover from Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana from 2008 to 2009. From 2010 to 2013, she was active as a librarian at Valencia College in Orlando, FL. After this opportunity, she contributed to Asurion as a whole home technical support representative in Orlando from 2016 to 2018. In September 2018, Ms. Loomis began her work with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Orlando in their IT department.
Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Loomis received an Associate of Science in education from the York College of Pennsylvania in 1972. Following this accomplishment, she earned a Bachelor of Science in educational media from Millersville University in Pennsylvania in 1974. In 1984, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in cinematography from Columbia College in Missouri. She concluded her education in 1999 with a Master of Science in library and information science from San Jose State University. Ms. Loomis is additionally certified in A+, Network+, and HTML.
In addition to her career, Ms. Loomis has been a freelance video camera operator since 1983. She is also a former member of the Association of Christian Librarians and the American Library Association. Ms. Loomis sought out her career because of her great love of helping others. She feels that if you have a wide variety of skills, you can be suited to help the most people. She feels the highlight of her career will be her upcoming appointment with the Wycliffe Bible Translators. Ms. Loomis has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in Entertainment and Who's Who in the West.
