Laurence Pressly was awarded a Proclamation in Recognition and Appreciation of 58 Years of Civic Service from the city of Lee's Summit.

Mr. Pressly began his career with the Family Farm Partnership from 1953 to 1961. Following this appointment, he worked as a county agent for farm management and area dairy specialist at the University of Missouri Extension from 1956 to 1972. From 1973 to 1974, he served as an agribusiness manager for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce in Missouri. After this opportunity, he held the position of vice president and general manager of the American Royal Livestock Horse Show and Rodeo from 1975 to 1985. Currently, he is the advisory director for Charter Bank in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Mr. Pressly earned his Bachelor of Science in agriculture from the University of Missouri in 1953. In addition to his vocational endeavors, Mr. Pressly was a member of the Westminster Gerontology Foundation from 1960 to 1974, chairman of the Show Me Vienna committee in Vienna, Austria, and vice president of the Missouri Hospital Association. In 1964, he served on the planning and zoning board for Lee's Summit, MO, and from 1969 to 1972, he was on their city council as well. He was on the Lee's Summit board of zoning and adjustment for Lee's Summit from 1976 to 2015. During this time, he was also associated with the City's industrial development authority from 1978 to 2017.
Mr. Pressly is also a member of the North American Livestock and Rodeo Managers Association, the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, the Hillcrest Country Club, and the Rotary Club. Furthermore, he has been active with Saddle & Sirloin, Agribusiness Global, and Optimist International, where he held the posts of president and charter member in 1968. Since 1985, Mr. Pressly has been associate broker and sales agent with ReeceNichols in Lee's Summit and Kansas City, MO.
Mr. Pressly was recipient of the Distinguished Award from the Lee's Summit United States Junior Chamber in 1956. In 1974, he obtained the Honorary Award from the American Future Farmers of America. He was additionally celebrated with the Distinguished Service Award from the Missouri Holstein Association in 1980, and was named Brother of the Century by the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity in 2004. On April 8, 2017, he was inducted into the Lee's Summit High School Hall of Fame.
In 2016, Mr. Pressly was awarded a Proclamation in Recognition and Appreciation of 58 Years of Civic Service from the city of Lee's Summit. He was presented with the Civic Leadership Award by the Missouri Municipal League and was recognized as Citizen of the Year by the city of Lee's Summit in 2017. Mr. Pressly has previously been selected for inclusion in the 20th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest.
