Mr. Shi has been the president, chief executive officer, and owner of CVC Internet, LLC, since 2008. CVC Internet, LLC, is a national internet provider, assisting residential, commercial, and government customers in Klamath County and in 50 states. Mr. Shi oversees operations pertaining to internet access, including broadband, website hosting and design services. He began his professional career at his alma mater, the College of New Jersey, as a computer lab student consultant in the PC & UNIX Computer Lab from 1990 to 1993 and a math-science student tutor from 1991 to 1993. During this time, he became a student UNIX systems administrator, programmer, and analyst of the Mercer County Improvement Authority in Trenton, NJ, from 1992 to 1993. He then became a student programmer at KANDU, Inc., in Hamilton, NJ, in 1993, as well as a software engineer at CA, Inc., in Princeton, NJ, from 1994 to 2008.
Mr. Shi obtained a Bachelor of Science in computer science with a minor in mathematics from the College of New Jersey, formerly known as Trenton State College, located in Ewing Township, NJ, in 1993, where he played violin in the school orchestra. He became involved in his profession after he had graduated and had received the Computer Science Department Award while studying there. After graduating, he became a member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon since 1993 and was selected and served as one of 12 jurors in a New Jersey Mercer County Superior Court criminal case trial between 2001 and 2002. He then joined the West Windsor Lions Club from 2003 to 2008, and has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers since 2008.
Mr. Shi was listed on the National Dean's List from 1987 to 1988, and his company, CVC Internet, LLC, received the Best of Klamath Falls Award from the Small Business Commerce Association in 2009. The company went on to receive four Best of Klamath Falls Awards in the Internet Service Provider category from the U.S. Commerce Association between 2010 and 2013. Nationwide, only one in 250 award recipients, which was less than half of 1 percent, qualified as four-time award winners that year. He has also possessed an America Registry for Internet Number since 2008 and has been accredited by the Better Business Bureau since 2009. He attributes his success to his personal innovation, science, and technique skills. He is a network administrator, but also a business operator. He hopes to further develop his business moving forward.
