Mr. Yang was born in Tang Chang Zhen, Chengdu, Sichuan, China. After accruing many years of professional experience, Mr. Yang retired from his role as research professor with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Earlier in his career, he gained valuable expertise as a visiting professor at the University of Western Ontario, and then as a visiting scholar and research associate professor with RPI. Additionally, he served as an assistant researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Semiconductors. Over the years, he (with his colleagues) has achieved much, receiving patents for the increase of the deposition rate of vapor deposited polymer by electric fields, the surface modification of CVD polymer films, and new technologies, new processes, and new materials for IC and ULSI applications.
Mr. Yang holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Science and Technology of China, Beijing, China. In order to stay abreast of changes in the field, he has affiliated himself with a number of societies, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, through which he was specially invited. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he has worked as co-translator and editor for VLSI Electronics (in Chinese) and has contributed to more than 100 articles. For his excellence in the field, he was nominated for the Twentieth Century Award for Achievement through the IBC, as well as an International Man of the Year Award. In 2017, he was also honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in professional publications such as Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
