With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Ms. Nelson is currently retired, having most recently worked as a nuclear pharmacy technician from 2003 to 2010; and she recently finished writing pharmacy technician curriculums for modular and year-long programs which soon will be published. Prior to this appointment, she held the position of pharmacy curriculum consultant from 1993 to 2002, she was on the pharmacy board of the Washington State Educational Task Force from 1993 to 1995, director of the pharmacy department at Eton Technical Institute from 1993 to 1994, and pharmacy instructor for the Clover Park Technical College from 1984 to 1993. Previously, she served the Washington State Educational Task Force as co-chair from 1984 to 1986, the Saint Joseph Medical Center as a pharmacy assistant from 1979 to 1984, the Madigan Army Medical Center as an intern in hematology, oncology, and pediatrics from 1979 to 1980, and Thrifty PayLess Holdings, Inc. as a druggist clerk from 1972 to 1979. Ms. Nelson began her career as a pharmacy technician at St. Joseph Hospital, and as an educator at Clover Park Technical College.
Ms. Nelson had maintained involvement with the Washington State Society of Pharmacy Assistants as an executive director since 1991, founder and president since 1985, and legal and public affairs chair since 1987. Furthermore, she was formerly active with the Washington State Society of Pharmacy Assistants as legislative representative assistant in 1986 and legislative chair from 1987 to 1995. Likewise, Ms. Nelson was the president of the Pharmacy Assistant Chapter of the Washington State Pharmacy Association from 1984 to 1995.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Nelson pursued an education at Clover Park Technical College, earning a pharmacy assistance Level A degree in 1979. In 2004 she was certified in nuclear pharmacy. Beyond her responsibilities within the field, she has contributed to the West Tapps Maintenance Company as president of architectural and land development from 1985 to 1990, member of legal and public affairs department from 1984 to 1986, and on the staff from 1979 to 1986. In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Nelson was selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
