Mr. Olson has worked as "of counsel" to Helsell Fetterman, LLP for the past 5 years. Prior to that he was a partner of Miller Nash, LLP, in Seattle, WA, for 18 years. He began his professional law career as an associate at Moriarty, Olson & Campbell from 1966 to 1968 and was promoted to partner the following year. He then became a partner at Moriarty, Mikkelberg, Broz, Wells & Fryer in 1971, where he remained for the next 14 years until he transferred to Reed McClure for an additional 15 years. He went on to become chair of the visiting committee of the department of economics at the University of Washington for two years. During this time, he served on boards for the Bainbridge Island Public Library and the Glaser Foundation, and was a trustee of Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT.
Mr. Olson earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Washington in 1961, and then served as a captain into the U.S. Army for two years. Once he got out, he returned to his alma mater to obtain a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1966 and was admitted to practice law in the state of Washington that same year. After graduating, he went on to serve in a number of positions with associations within his field. He served as international president of Phi Delta Phi from 1981 to 1983, and became secretary of the Rotary Club of Emerald City three years later, eventually being elected as president. Years later, he served on the board of directors for the Greater North West chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and became a trustee of the Northwest Kidney Center Foundation. He has served as an assistant chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia since 2012 and is listed in the 22nd edition of Who's Who in the West and multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law.
