Burke professor emeritus of law at Case Western Reserve University since 2016, having been Burke professor since 2014. Prior to obtaining these roles, he was Schott-van den Eynden professor from 2012 to 2014 and David L. Brennan professor from 1998 to 2012, having worked his way from assistant professor of law to professor with the school from 1983 to 1998. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jensen was an associate with Sullivan & Cromwell from 1980 to 1983, and a law clerk to the Honorable Monroe G. McKay from 1979 to 1980.
Mr. Jensen began his career as a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1967. He subsequently served with the United States Army, and he completed a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago in 1972. Earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Cornell University in 1979, Mr. Jensen has been admitted to practice in the state of New York, as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals, and the United States Tax Court.
A respected voice in his areas of expertise, Mr. Jensen has been affiliated with a number of organizations in his community. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and the American Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the American Bar Association section of taxation, the Cleveland Metro Bar Association, and the American Law Institute. Mr. Jensen has served as a visiting professor for Cornell University and on the advisory council of the Musical Arts Association of Cleveland Orchestra.
Throughout his career, Mr. Jensen has been recognized for his contributions, having been featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
