She began her professional career as an accountant with Siouxland Dressed Beef in Fargo, ND, in 1960, where she remained for six years before becoming a corporate accountant and office manager with Western Medical Enterprises in Hayward, CA. Following these appointments, she briefly served as the general accounting manager of Acurex Corporation in Sunnyvale, CA, until she relocated to the Midwest to accept a position at her most recent institution as a business manager for 7 years, while also serving as secretary and treasurer on its board of directors. During this time, she was also chairman and trustee of the Nebraska Liquid Asset Fund Plus for over a decade.
Ms. Gloshen earned a Bachelor Science in business administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 1983. Two years later, she went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration from the university's Lincoln campus. After graduating, she went on to serve to a number of civic duties, notably with the Association of School Business Officials International, of which she was the first woman to move up its ranks to president as well as serve on its board of directors. Other organizations she has participated in have included the United Way, the American Red Cross, the Disaster Alert Team, Nebraska ESUCC Cooperative Purchasing, and the National Policy Board for Educational Administration, among many others.
Aside from her professional roles, Ms. Gloshen has been active with numerous associations related to her field, such as the Nebraska Council on School Administrators, as well as local clubs, including the Nebraska Balloon Club and the Wednesday Club. In 1993, she was awarded an Eagle Service Award for Service to Education and Community by the Association of School Business Officials International, as well as the Walter K. Beggs Award for Outstanding Service to Education by the College of Education of the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She is listed in the 23rd edition of Who's Who in the Midwest, the 63rd edition of Who's Who in America, and several editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who of American Women.
