After working for nearly 30 years with the Department of the Army, Mr. Ford retired from his role as a project manager of selected ammunitions and improved conventional munitions. Earlier in his career, he completed service as an enlisted member of the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he pursued an education with assistance from the GI Bill, earning a diploma from Upsala College in 1961. Mr. Ford concluded his education at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management in Syracuse University, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in 1972.
Upon graduation, Mr. Ford began working for the United States Government, holding numerous administrative positions throughout his career. Over the years, he has also contributed his expertise in the defense field as a teacher of material acquisition medium. Between 1951 and 1995, he progressed from GS7 to GS15, which is the top of the pay scale for a civilian within his position in the United States Government. A member of the Brevard County Veterans Association, Mr. Ford attributed his success to his hard work and dedication to the military.
In 2016, Mr. Ford was inducted into the Ammunition Hall of Fame by the United States Army. Likewise, he was presented with the Meritorious Service Medal from the Department of the Army. Looking toward the future, Mr. Ford intends to continue parlaying his knowledge to others in the field while also enjoying his well-deserved retirement.
