Constance Yvonne Skillingstad was named Woman of Distinction by the Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine in 1995.

Prior to this position, she served as the executive director of Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota and as president of Golden Girl Homes Inc. in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Ms. Skillingstad earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a licensed social worker and real estate agent, and a certified life coach and volunteer administrator. She began her career as a social worker for the Rock County Welfare Department in Luverne, Minnesota. From 1968 to 1978, Ms. Skillingstad worked for Hennepin County Social Services in Minneapolis, first as a social worker and then as volunteer coordinator.
In 1994, Ms. Skillingstad was named executive director of the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Four years later, she was appointed assistant director of Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis. In 2001, Ms. Skillingstad began her tenure as director of member services for the Minnesota Council on Foundations before earning her post with Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota the following year.
In addition to her primary professional responsibilities, Ms. Skillingstad was a faculty member of Metropolitan State University in St. Paul and Minneapolis from 1980 to 1997, and the Center for Nonprofit Management at the University of St. Thomas from 1990 to 2001. She has also contributed numerous articles to professional journals. Outside of her career, Ms. Skillingstad is heavily involved with civic organizations and has been on the board of directors of the Gundersen National Child Protection Training Center, the Children, Youth & Family Consortium at the University of Minnesota, the Center for Grief, Loss & Transition, Authentic Voices International, and Prevent Child Abuse America, among many others.
Ms. Skillingstad is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Volunteer Administration, the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration and the Minnesota Social Service Association, which awarded her a Distinguished Service Award in 1987. She was also named Woman of Distinction by the Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine in 1995. In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Skillingstad was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, the 26th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry and the sixth edition of Who's Who in American Education.
