NORMAL, IL, November 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Betty Green Rademacher with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Rademacher celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Rademacher chose to work in counseling and student affairs at the academic level because it was a field that was becoming very prominent. Knowing that she could do the job, she earned her degrees and first role as a counselor at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 1958. She accepted another opportunity working in the same capacity at Illinois State University in Normal between 1972 and 1981. Over the next near two decades, she split her time between serving as the director of career education at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington from 1981 to 1990 and as a staff psychologist and associate director of counseling and career services back at Illinois State University between 1990 and 1999.
As a counselor and consultant, Ms. Rademacher was proud of the work she did, not only in increasing the potential of students attending college but also in helping make current students' college experience more rewarding and successful. Equally significant to her career, she enjoyed the time she spent training and supervising student para-professionals and working with environmental assessment and diversity training during the 1990's.
Ms. Rademacher attended and hosted numerous lecturers at conferences throughout her tenure. She was the author of a chapter in the book "New Horizons in Parenthood" in 1982, was co-author of "Williamson County Schools: From a Personal and Professional Perspective" in 1989 and was a contributor of multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals in her area of expertise.
A former president of Compassion & Choices of McLean County and the Illinois Small College Placement Association and a former senior professional board of directors for Illinois State University, Ms. Rademacher was also active as a member of several other professional organizations. These included the Illinois chapter of the American Counseling Association, the Midwest chapter of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Society of Human Resource Management and the American College Personnel Association, as well as several honor societies. Locally, Ms. Rademacher served on the board of directors of the United Campus Christian Foundation, was a member of the Women's Division Chamber of Commerce in Bloomington and a member and committee chair of the Bloomington-Normal Human Resource Council.
Ms. Rademacher was a McLean YMCA nominee for Women of Distinction in 2013. She has also been cited in multiple editions of Who's Who of American Women and the 24th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest. Ms. Rademacher holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from Southern Illinois University and is a certified professional in human resources.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Betty Green Rademacher has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
