McEachen with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. McEachen began his career as an associate lawyer with Hillix, Hall, Hasburgh, Brown & Hoffhaus in Kansas City, MO, from 1961 to 1962. He worked at The First National Bank of Kansas City from 1962 to 1975 rising to become a senior vice president. After this opportunity, he was employed by the Commerce Bank in Kansas City from 1975 to 1985 becoming executive vice president and manager of the trust division. From 1985 to 1987, he was active as the executive vice president of the Centerre Bank of Kansas City N.A., and from 1987 to 1988, he was executive vice president of the Security Bank in Kansas City. He was executive vice president and trust officer of the Overland Park UMB Bank in Kansas from 1988 to 1993. Mr. McEachen concluded his professional career as an attorney with Ferree, Bunn, O'Grady & Runberg Chtd. in Overland Park, KS, from 1994 to 2005.

In addition to his career, Mr. McEachen served as a staff auditor for the Auditor General with the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958 and was stationed at Wheelus Air Force Base Tripoli, Libya. He continued as a captain in the United States Air Force Reserves until 1967. He held a position on the board of directors of the Greater Kansas City Mental Health Care Foundation from 1963 to 1969, and during this time was also treasurer from 1964 to 1969 and vice president from 1967 to 1969. He was associated with the American Royal Association of Kansas City as a governor from 1970 to 2002, during which time he was also an Ambassador from 1980 to 2004 and chaired various committees. From 1972 to 1982, Mr. McEachen was on the advisory council for the Future Farmers of America, and from 1976 to 1983, he was on the advisory board of urban services for the Kansas City YMCA.

Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. McEachen obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas in Lawrence in 1955. Following this accomplishment, and after his service in the United States Air Force, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Michigan in 1961. He was admitted to practice law in the state of Missouri in 1961 and the state of Kansas in 1982. Mr. McEachen was certified as a trust and finance advisor by the Institute for Certified Bankers in 1991.

Mr. McEachen served on the board of Kansas City's General Hospital continuing when it was renamed Truman Medical Center on the board of directors from 1974 to 1986, as a member of the finance committee from 1975 to 1986 chairing the committee from 1979 to 1984, as treasurer from 1979 to 1984, on the board of governors from 1986 to 2002, and as a member of the pension committee from 1976 to 1993 and 1996 to 2000. He was a member of the advisory committee for the legal assistant program for Avila University in Kansas City from 1978 to 1980. He was manager of the Oppenstein Brothers Foundation from 1979 to 1985. From 1980 to 1987, he was trustee of the Clearinghouse for Midcontinent Foundations. He served as cubmaster and as vice chairman for the Kanza District of the Boy Scouts of America from 1982 to 1983, on the troop committee from 1983 to 1990, including as treasurer from 1986 to 1988. He was a member of the Estate Planning Association of Greater Kansas City and served as its president from 1974 to 1975. Mr. McEachen held a position on the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council from 1984 to 1986 and as a member of the Estate Planning Society was on the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium committee from 1992 to 1998.

Mr. McEachen was active as a trustee for the Village Presbyterian Church from 1987 to 1990, serving as chairman from 1989 to 1990 and as an elder from 1994 to 1997. He was on the church's Golf Classic committee from 2005 to 2012 and the Care & Counseling committee from 2009 to 2013. He became a member of the board of directors for the Foundation for Shawnee Mission Medical Center in 1988, was on the finance committee from 1989 to 1992 and since 2002, the planned giving committee since 1996, and the investment committee in 2000. He was a member of the citizens advisory committee of Shawnee Mission Education Foundation in 2003.

From 1989 to 1990, he was on the board of directors of the Scout Booster Club Inc. In 1991, he became a member of the planned gift committee for the William Rockhill Nelson Gallery of Art, now the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. He served on the Donald H. Chisholm Planned Giving Council for Children's Mercy Hospital. Mr. McEachen served on the board of the American Royal Charitable Foundation from 1995 to 2005. Mr. McEachen has been a member of the Kansas City Estate Planning Society, the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, the Johnson County Bar Association, the Eastern Kansas Estate Planning Council, the Indian Hills Country Club and the United States Golf Association.

From 1961 to 1968, he was a member of the Kansas City Junior Chamber of Commerce serving as vice president from 1966 to 1968, and from 1974 to 1975, he was president of the Estate Planning Association. As a member of the Kansas City chapter of the Delta Tau Delta Alumni, Mr. McEachen was also vice president from 1978 to 1980, and on the Hibbs scholarship committee from 2007 to 2010.

Mr. McEachen was an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. from 1994 to 2006. During this time, he was also on the panel of arbitrators with the American Arbitration Association from 1994 to 1996. From 1999 to 2000, he was on the program committee of the 40 Years Ago Column Club and was president in 2001 and 2009 and trustee from 2001 to 2004 and 2010 to 2012. He was on the board of directors for the Kansas City Senior Golfers Association from 2009 through 2015 and was its president in 2012. Additionally, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America in 1948. In his college years, he was a member of Delta Tau Delta, Alpha Kappa Psi, Phi Delta Phi, Arnold Air Society and Scabbard and Blade. He was a Cadet Lieutenant Colonel and group Commander in ROTC. Mr. McEachen has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the Midwest.
