An attorney with nearly 40 years of experience, Mr. Rose initially started his career as a certified public accountant. Pursuing a Doctor of Jurisprudence at night school while working full-time in accounting, he eventually graduated and became an attorney working out of a private practice. Later holding the post of partner at Dean, Falanga & Rose, a law firm located in Carle Place, N.Y., Mr. Rose then returned to working in a private practice in 1979, this time in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he remained active until retirement in 1991.
While working in the field of law, Mr. Rose served as a referee for the Small Claims Court in New York and as an arbitrator for the Accident Claims Tribunal with the American Arbitration Association. He also lectured in his field and was the author of "Liability of Golfer to Person Struck by Ball," which received an Honorable Mention Award in 1960.
During his earlier career, Mr. Rose was involved as the president of the Nassau South Shore Little League in Lawrence, N.Y. He also found success as the treasurer of the 5 Towns Democratic Club in Woodmere, N.Y., the chair of the United Fund for the Village of Lawrence and as a citizens' observer.
Mr. Rose is a longtime member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the New York State Association of Plaintiff's Trial Lawyers, the New York State Bar Association and the Florida Bar. He is also a member and former chairman of the med-legal committee for the Nassau County Bar Association.
As a former pilot and captain in the U.S. Air Force between 1943 and 1945, who notably served in World War II, Mr. Rose is also a member of the Air Force Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is further affiliated with Masons, Shriners, the Pompano Beach Power Squadron as a safety officer and the Bellaggio Men's Club as a member and chairman of the gambling committee.
Honored for his time served in the military, Mr. Rose received an Air Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, a Decorated Distinguished Flying Cross, a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. Mr. Rose earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at the City College of New York in 1947 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence at New York University in 1953. He has been admitted to represent cases in front of the Eastern and Southern Districts of the U.S. District Court of New York, the U.S. Tax Court, the Second Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. Furthermore, Mr. Rose was a certified public accountant and licensed insurance broker.
