With more than 60 years of professional experience, Mr. Peterson has been the president of EDON Inc. in Roswell, Georgia, since 1974. Furthermore, he has held the role of editor emeritus of Car Collector Magazine since 1992, having been editor from 1977 to 1991. Concurrent to this role, he served as vice president and director of Classic Publishing Inc. from 1979 to 1997. From 1967 to 1973, he was president of the First State Bank of Murdock, and from 1964 to 1966 he was chief health underwriter with North Central Life. Earlier in his career, Mr. Peterson was an assistant underwriter with Prudential Insurance Company America from 1953 to 1964.
Mr. Peterson began his career with the United States Navy, serving from 1946 to 1947. Following this accomplishment, he pursued an education with the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, completing undergraduate coursework from 1947 to 1950. Mr. Peterson concluded his studies at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1952.
A respected voice in his field, Mr. Peterson has held a number of leadership positions in his community as well. A former councilman and mayor of Murdock, Minnesota, he has also been active as a delegate to the State Republican Conventions and the treasurer of the Swift County Republican Committee. The former president of the Swift County Bankers Association, he is also a member of the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry, the Society of Automotive Historians and The American Legion. Additionally, he served as president of the Georgia chapter of Mensa International and the Classic Car Club of America for a number of years. Mr. Peterson has also been active with the Rolls-Royce Owners Club, the Antique Automobile Club of America, The Vintage Motor Car Club of America, The Packard Club, the Cadillac & Lasalle Club, the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club and the Horseless Carriage Club of America.
Throughout his career, Mr. Peterson has been recognized for his many contributions to his field. Hemmings Motor News presented him with a Hobby Hero Award in 2002, and he was the recipient of the Citation for Distinguished Service from the Classic Car Club of America in 1965. Mr. Peterson has been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in Media and Communication.
